The name Louvre Unbound embodies the essence of our vision. The word Louvre originates from the Old French l’ouevre — meaning “the artwork.” In this sense, the magazine itself becomes the work.

At the same time, the Musée du Louvre remains the world’s most visited museum and a universal symbol of classical art. By adding Unbound, we create a deliberate contrast: while Louvre evokes history, mastery, and tradition, Unbound opens a space for freedom, experimentation, and renewal.
